4 years jail for youths who admitted to robbery

Two young men were today sentenced to 4 years, 6 months imprisonment by Magistrate Judy Latchman for the offence of robbery.

Daniel Prince,18 and Donovan Richardson,21 admitted that on May 15, 2018, at Hadfield Street, Georgetown, they robbed Osafo Hill of a cell phone and other times totalling $56,000.

The duo did not have legal representation but Richardson told the court that, “Somebody took the thing away from the man and I thief it back from them.”

Police Prosecutor, Arwin Moore told the court that on the day in question, the victim was walking along Hadfield Street when he was attacked by the defendants.

The court heard that Prince and Richardson cuffed Hill and snatched his cell phone along with the other items. They escaped but were later arrested by the police with the stolen items in their possession.
