Imtiaz ‘Sancho’ Shaheed, 41, was today sentenced to three years jail and fined $30,000 by Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Linden Magistrate’s Court after he pleaded guilty to cultivating marijuana plants.
A police statement noted that police ranks stationed in ‘E’ Division found a three-acre cannabis cultivation, two camps, a quantity of dried cannabis, along with dry ration and utensils at Ituni Road, Upper Demerara on May 26, 2018.
Police said that Shaheed was found tending to the illegal plants. The plants were subsequently destroyed.
