Twenty-six-year-old Julian Knox, a Footballer, was today committed to stand a High court trial for attempted murder.

Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan, in her ruling, noted that there is sufficient evidence for Knox of Pearl, East Bank Demerara (EBD), to face a judge and jury.

The charge against Knox stated that on April 11, 2018, at Coverden, EBD, he unlawfully wounded Keith Dalton with intent to harm or murder him.

Knox remains on $250,000 bail; the matter was prosecuted by Police Inspector Gordon Mansfield, who had noted that the charge stemmed from an incident in which the accused had a misunderstanding with Dalton.

It escalated into a fight and Knox allegedly stabbed Dalton with a beer bottle.
