Chandimal warms up with 108 against President’s XI

Captain Dinesh Chandimal struck a hundred on the opening day of Sri Lanka’s three-day warm-up game against Cricket West Indies President’s XI on Wednesday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Sri Lanka reached 318-6 at stumps with Chandimal hitting 108 (216 balls; 6x4s, 3x6s).

Kusal Perera struck 65 in a second wicket partnership of 130 with Chandimal, while Angelo Mathews scored 41. Spinners Jomel Warrican and Rakheem Cornwall have so far picked up 2-67 and 2-88 respectively.

The first of three Test matches between West Indies and Sri Lanka will start on June 6. Matches will be played in Trinidad (June 6-10), St. Lucia (June 14-18) and Barbados (June 23 to 27).
