A 27-year-old carpenter was on Wednesday remanded the prison on a series of armed robbery charges and discharging a loaded firearm.
Akeem Rajkumar of Leopold Street, Georgetown appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore and denied all the charges.
Particulars of the first charge alleged that on April 30 at Leopold Street, Rajkumar while being in the company of others and armed with guns, robbed Rodwell Maynard of $89,0000 cash property of Damion Elliot.
It is further alleged that on the same day and location, Rajkumar discharged a loaded firearm at Elliot with intent to cause harm.
The third charge alleged that on April 27 at Cross Street, Alexander Village, Rajkumar while being armed with a gun, robbed Arvil Croft $85,000.
It is also alleged that on the same day and location, Rajkumar robbed Jannel Walters of a quantity of gold jewellery valued at $320,000, a cell phone worth $50,000 along with $60,000 cash.
His Attorney, George Thomas told the court that his client is the father of three and is the sole breadwinner for his family.
Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne objected to bail being granted and cited the seriousness of the charges.
Magistrate Azore remanded Rajkumar to prison until June 20.
