$8M in diesel stolen from SOL

Police are investigating a robbery which occurred at SOL Guyana Incorporated located at Lot BB Rome, Agricola, East Bank Demerara, resulting in the loss of 34,000 litres of Diesel, valued at $8M.

News Room understands that at about 07:30hrs today, operators discovered the chain lock which was used to secure the vault to the diesel tank was on the ground and the seal was broken.

It was noted that the vault was secured at about 18:30 hrs on Sunday.

Upon measuring the diesel, it was found that 34,000 litres are missing.

Several persons, including the security officers from Professional Guard Services, who provide services to the facility, were questioned.

An investigation is ongoing.
