Three bronze medals for Guyana at SA Games

Athlete Winston George won Guyana’s third bronze medal at the South American Games on Wednesday with a solid run in the Men’s 400m.

George was timed at 45.67s, finishing behind gold medallist Lucas Da Silva Carvalho (45.61s) of Brazil and Yilmar Andres Herrera Madera (45.64s) of Colombia, who copped silver.

Also winning bronze were boxers Keevin Allicock and Colin ‘Superman’ Lewis. Allicock, the 2017 Junior Sportsman-of-the-Year, could not get past Carlos Maria Alanis of Argentina in the semi-finals of the 56kg Class.

Lewis also suffered defeat at the semi-finals, losing out to John Agudelo of Colombia in the 64kg Class.
