Ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on June 6, intercepted a quantity of suspected cocaine and marijuana concealed in two blue plastic gas bottles in the trunk of a vehicle at Parika Public Road, East Bank Essequibo.
A statement from CANU today noted that the cannabis amounted to 35.080 kilograms and the cocaine weighed 13.812 kilograms.
Five men were arrested pending the investigation. They are: Khamraj Lall, Marlon Lawrence, Rajendra Persaud, Cleve Thornhill, and Doodnauth Chattgroon.
They are slated to appear at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court today.
