Erva Giddings starred with the ball and Shemaine Campbelle followed up with the bat as Guyana defeated Trinidad and Tobago by seven wickets in the Regional Women’s T20 Blast on Tuesday.
Seamer Giddings took 3-6 off her four overs as Trinidad and Tobago were limited to 64-8 in their 20 overs, with Shania Abdool hitting an unbeaten 31.
Campbelle then stamped her authority on the match, racing to 44 not out, including four fours and two sixes, as Guyana responded with 70-3.
It was Guyana’s first win of the tournament after losing badly to powerhouse Jamaica in the opening round earlier this week. In that game, Guyana made 75-8 and Jamaica won by eight wickets.
