Ganja field destroyed in Coomacka Mines

Police on Thursday morning conducted a drug eradication operation at Coomacka Mines, Upper Demerara River where they destroyed an acre of marijuana cultivation with about 1,500 cannabis plants measuring 2-6 feet in height with an estimated weight of about 300 kgs.

A police statement noted that ranks also destroyed a nursery with about 300 seedlings, a make-shift camp with three hammocks, kitchen utensils, clothing, groceries and 15 kgs of dried cannabis.

No one was arrested and police investigations are ongoing.
