Kirani James to compete at AP Invitational
Grenada’s first and to date only Olympic medallist, Kirani James, is confirmed to compete at the Aliann Pompey Invitational, set for June 30 at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.
James is the first high-profile international athlete confirmed for this year’s event.
A 200 and 400m specialist, James won 400m gold at the World Championships in 2011, and a year later won gold in the same event at the London Olympics.
His presence is sure to add more flavour and hype to an event that has attracted solid support from both athletes and spectators over the years.
