WORLD CUP: Hat-trick for Ronaldo as Portugal, Spain end 3-3

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a sensational late free-kick to round off his hat-trick and salvage a 3-3 draw for Portugal against Spain in a captivating match four of the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Portugal captain put his side ahead with an early penalty (4^th minute) and restored their lead just before half-time (44^th). Diego Costa twice equalised with well-taken goals (24^th and 55^th), with Nacho’s majestic goal appearing to have won it for Spain in the 58^th minute.

But Ronaldo stepped up in the 88^th minute to fire into the top-right corner with two minutes remaining to secure the draw in Sochi. (BBC Sport)
