Bandits burglarise home of West Bank family
A 62-year-old couple returned to their Lot 251, Eleventh Street, Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara home on Friday afternoon to find it broken into and ransacked.
Patricia Daniels and her husband, Curtis Daniels left home at about 07:00hrs on Friday and her husband found the house ransacked when he returned at around 13:00hrs.
The suspect(s) gained entry to the house through a window and stole a DVD player, speakers, computer monitor, food items and an undisclosed sum of cash.
Patricia told News Room she is not aware of what else was taken since the home is still in a mess.
The distraught woman said: “I ain’t even searching more because I’m not able.”
She noted that another house in the scheme was also burglarised on Friday, however, details surrounding the second incident are sketchy.
There has been a spate of robberies in the area and residents have been calling for increased police presence in since the closest police station to Parfaite Harmonie is located at La Grange.
