A 31-year-old Taxi Driver was today sentenced to three years imprisonment after he was found guilty of sexually grooming a 15-year-old female.

Daniel James was on trial before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan. The case was prosecuted by Inspector Neville Jeffers and James was represented by attorney-at-law Paul Fung-a-Fat.

The Court heard that James communicated with the teenager on at least two occasions via WhatsApp on December 12, 2017, and January 18, 2018, with intentions to engage in sexual activity.

According to reports, James allegedly knew that the child was underage and still communicated with her.

It is further alleged that on January 18, James made arrangements to have sex with the teen but the police intervened and arrested James after acting on intelligence received.
