Owner of Caesar’s Palace hotel robbed at gunpoint


Police are on the hunt for a lone gunman who walked into the Caesar’s Palace Hotel at Delph Street Campbellville, Georgetown, pointed a shotgun at the owner and escaped with her handbag that contained cash and other valuables.

Police revealed that 52-year-old Roxanne Rollex lost $75,000 in cash; a Samsung Galaxy S5 cellphone; a Samsung galaxy J7; a Blu cellphone and a number of personal documents.

The armed robbery occurred just after midnight on Saturday.

Police said that the victim was seated in the lobby of the hotel when the perpetrator approached the receptionist and requested a room.

The man then exited the hotel and returned with a shotgun which he pointed at the victim and picked up the handbag.

Police are reviewing CCTV cameras from the area.
