Special Constable robbed at gunpoint after leaving ATM

Moments after he withdrew $40,000 from a Republic Bank ATM at Waterloo and New Market Streets, Georgetown, three men in a Silver Grey Allion car followed 54-year-old Richard Henry and robbed him just after 6am today.

Henry is a Special Constable who is stationed at the Police Sports Club. He told police that while using the ATM, he observed the car with registration number – PTT 4907 – with three male occupants parked on Waterloo Street facing North.

After withdrawing the money, he mounted his bicycle and rode North on Waterloo Street and as he approached the corner of Waterloo and Lamaha Street, the said car drove past and stopped directly in front of him.

The man said a male occupant in the back seat then exited and pointed a gun at him saying: “pas de money yuh jus draw”.

The Special Constable complied and the bandits escaped. Police are reviewing CCTV cameras as investigations continue.
