A 49-year-old Gold Miner was remanded to prison Friday for allegedly raping a 40-year-old woman at a Mazaruni River mining camp.
Cedrick Anderson made his appearance before Magistrate Judy Latchman and was not required to plea to the charge which alleged that the incident occurred on June 25.
Anderson was represented by Attorney-at-law Clyde Forde. The matter is adjourned to July 3.
According to reports on the day in question, the accused held a cutlass to the woman while he committed the act.
