Guyanese Shimron Hetmyer cracked a century on Friday against Bangladesh in a warm-up President’s XI two-day match at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.
His 123 came off 138 balls and spanned 163 minutes. The left-hander struck 19 fours and a six. Captain Shamarh Brooks supported with 72 off 152 balls and 201 minutes, hitting 12 boundaries, as the President’s XI posted 310-8 in response to Bangladesh first day score of 402-8.
Bangladesh got Shanyne Moseley and John Campbell early, both going without scoring, but the team recovered to earn a draw. Guyanese trio Vishaul Singh made 45, Romario Shepherd 26 not out and Tagenarine Chanderpaul 24.
For the visitors, Abu Jayed Rahi with 13-4-39-2 and Shafiul Islam 12-1-48-2 were the top performers.
The first Test between West Indies and Bangladesh will begin on Wednesday, July 4 at the Sir Vivian Richards Ground.
