Volda Lawrence joins the race for leadership of PNC
PNCR Chair and Minister of Public Health, Volda Lawrence
Long-standing member of the People’s National Congress (PNC), Volda Lawrence has announced her candidature for the position of Chair of the party, for which elections will be held at Congress in August 2018.
Lawrence, who also the country’s Minister of Public Health, will be up against another party favourite, Joseph Harmon along with the current chairman, Basil Williams.
Harmon and Williams both serve in the APNU+AFC Government as Minister of State and Attorney General, respectively.
Party member, Christopher Jones informed the media today that Lawrence made the announcement while in Linden at the Harmony Secondary School.
The race for PNC Chair is expected to be a tight one as the trio have strong ties to the PNC with a huge support base.
