Teen cocaine swallower, 3 others busted
A 19-year-old female was on Friday afternoon arrested after it was suspected that she swallowed cocaine pellets.
According to the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), she was an outgoing passenger on Flight BW 526 destined for the John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport.
The woman was escorted to a city hospital where she has since excreted 44 pellets suspected to contain cocaine.
CANU said she remains hospitalized and under observation.
This interdiction then led ranks to a location on the East Coast of Demerara last evening where some 279 suspected cocaine-filled pellets were seized. Three persons were arrested while two suspects remain at large, CANU said.
