Driver caught after armed robbery of bank customer

A 28-year-old man of South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, Travis John is in police custody following the armed robbery committed on an East Coast Demerara resident at around 10:00am today at Mahaica.

Police are on the hunt for two other suspects who managed to escape. According to the police, three males in a Spacio motorcar robbed the victim of a sum of cash which he earlier withdrew from a commercial bank on the East Coast.

Police intercepted the car on the Railway Embankment and the driver was found changing the vehicle’s registration plate.

Police did not recover the stolen money.
