Weapons, drugs & phones found in Lusignan Prison raid

A number of improvised weapons, drugs and cell phones were confiscated during a three-hour raid at the Lusignan Prison Saturday morning.

The raid was conducted by police and prison officers, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said in a statement.

Among the items found are three cell phones, two cell phone batteries, one pocket knife, four pairs of scissors, four metal spoons, two hack saw blades, and thirteen improvised weapons.

There were also two mirrors, 24 lighters, 27 charges, four ear pieces, 2 packs of needles, 4 phone cases, 4 ziplock bags with marijuana, a quantity of cigarettes and a quantity of wire and razor blades.
