The Uncle of a 30-year-old man of 76 Sixth Street, Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara (WCD) has confessed to murdering him Monday morning.
According to the police, Jason Rejendra Lall Hiria’s Uncle this evening admitted to strangling the victim.
The suspect was arrested along with Hiria’s grandparents on Monday after the man was found seated motionless on an inside toilet with marks of violence around his neck.
The incident occurred between 01:30hrs and 05:30hrs at the man’s home.
Police said the man is an alcoholic and was intoxicated at the time.
There was no sign of forced entry into the home.
Following the discovery, the family members were arrested.
Investigators are compiling the case file for legal advice.
