Finalists decided in ExxonMobil School Football

The finalists for the ExxonMobil boys and girls under-14 School Football were decided on Tuesday after the last of the semi-finals were contested at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

The South Ruimveldt’s girls will play Charlestown Secondary in the final after South hammered East Ruimveldt 9-1.

Goals rained from the feet of Amanda Mckenzie and Anallisia Redman, who both recorded hat-tricks.

Mckenzie scored in the 22nd, 30th and 35th while Redman made her marks in the 28th, 32nd and 40th.

Supporting the cast were Latesha Sunderland in the 16th and 33rd and Angel Denny in the 19th; East’s lone goal came from Tamara Mendonca in the 12th.

For the boys, the young lads from Chase Academic Foundation are following in the footsteps of their seniors after they outclassed an organized Buxton Youth Developers unit 3-1.

It took a team effort from Chase with their marksmen being Jaleel Alendar (5th), Leivin Mullin (12th) and Brandon Soloman (34th).

The East Coast Demerara unit had levelled proceedings in the 6th via Tyrice Dennis; Chase will now go unto play North Ruimveldt Multilateral when both finals and third-place matches are contested at the aforementioned venue on Saturday, July 21.

The two semi-finals were initially slated to be contested on Saturday, July 14, but due to several of the players being encamped by the Guyana Football Federation due to upcoming national engagements, the organisers were forced to reschedule.
