Police seeking public’s help to identify man killed by minibus
Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who was reportedly struck down by a minibus early Tuesday morning along Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown.
The man is of East Indian ancestry; his head was reportedly run over by the minibus around 04:00 hrs.
The driver of the vehicle, BWW4632, told Police he was proceeding west along the southern carriageway on the Avenue when he suddenly felt an impact and he stopped; upon investigating, the driver said he discovered the victim lying on the roadway with his head smashed.
The 48-year-old driver of Cove and John, East Coast Demerara, passed a breathalyzer test and remains in custody assisting with the investigation.
The vehicle is lodged pending investigation.
