ANSA McAL and the Lusignan Golf club have extended their partnership to five years in hosting the Heineken golf open which returns on Saturday, July 21 from 12:30hrs.

Speaking at Thursday’s launch, President of the club Aleem Hussain explained that despite the weather, the club is still in good condition.

Hussain hopes to have around 35-40 participants and reminded that even if one is not a member of the club, they can participate.

Heineken’s Brand Manager in Guyana, Darshanie Yussuf, expressed satisfaction with the growth of the tournament over the years and wants it to continue to develop.

Apart from Saturday’s action, the two entities are partnering to give back to the younger ones. Though not under the Heineken brand, Hussain explained they are planning to teach young children how to play golf by offering free sessions.

The tournament will be run in flights which will determine who win the various prizes. With a gross of 90 and a net of 66, Lakeram Shivraj, who played with a 24 handicap, won the title in 2017.
