Twenty-year old Victor Aditya Ram of Lot 496 Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara (WCD), was pronounced dead on arrival at the West Demerara Regional Hospital after the car he was in crashed on the Vreed-en-Hoop public road this morning.
Police said the driver of the car PTT 6297, 23-year-old Bishram Ramkishore of Lot 29 Goed Fortuin, W.B.D, is unconscious and in a critical condition at Dr. Balwant Singh’s Hospital.
The other occupant of the car, 23-year-old Kevin Henry is in a stable condition at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Investigations revealed that about 01:50hrs this morning, the vehicle was proceeding east along the northern carriageway in the vicinity of the Hand-in-Hand Insurance Company, when the driver swerved from hitting a pedestrian who was crossing the road.
But the driver in the process collided with a metal signboard and crashed into a concrete fence.
Investigations are ongoing.
