Law enforcement authorities are probing the cause of a fire which completely destroyed a two storey house at Lot 124 Coglan Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara just after midnight on Wednesday.

Police said the man is known alcohol abuser and he reportedly said that he was taking a shower when he heard someone shouted: “fire! fire!”

News Room understands that Parwat ran outside and saw the house engulfed in flames. Neighbours tried to quell the fire with buckets of water but it was futile as the flames grew bigger.
