Banks DIH takes another furlong with Guyana Cup horse race meet

Local beverage giant Banks DIH Limited has been confirmed the beverage sponsor of the 12^th annual Guyana Cup Horse Race Meet, billed for August 19 at the Rising Sun Turf Club, West Coast Berbice.

The announcement was made during the handing over to the championship trophy by Banks DIH Limited to the organisers during a simple ceremony at the company’s Head office at Thirst Park on Friday.

Alisha Mohamed, wife of Nasrudeen Mohamed, promoter of the event, received the trophy from Banks DIH Limited representative Shenisa Fredericks in the presence of Outdoor Events Manager Mortimer Stewart, and other company officials.

Communications Manager Troy Peters said that Banks DIH Limited and the organisers of the Guyana Cup have had a long and fruitful partnership which has grown over the years.

“The Guyana Cup is the premier Horse Racing event in locally and our sustained support has aided in the development of the sport in Guyana,” Peters said

Nasrudeen Mohamed, promoter of the event, expressed gratitude to Banks DIH Limited for sponsoring the Guyana Cup for another year. Over $15 million in cash and prizes will be up for grabs in the one-day event, which starts at 12:00h.
