Four arrested after CANU finds 116 kilos of ganja


The Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) has arrested four men after a quantity of marijuana was found in a wooden vessel and a taxi at Hope/Nootenzuil Lowlands, East Coast Demerara on Saturday.

“During the early morning hours of Saturday 28th July, 2018 CANU Ranks conducted an operation on the East Coast of Demerara where a wooden vessel and a taxi both carrying bulky bags of suspected marijuana was eventually interdicted,” CANU stated.

The Unit said it seized 116.2 kilograms marijuana.

Those arrested were Jason Dhanpat, Inderjeet Beepat, Jermain Hikel and Teairre Ackeem Cush.
