Police are investigating the murder of a 21-year-old man of Lot C 181 Timehri, East Bank Demerara, which occurred at about 19:30hrs on Thursday.
The police said Ronsely Clarke, a mason, was in the company of his girlfriend partying at a popular hangout spot at ‘C’ Field Access Road, Sophia, East Coast Demerara, when one of his male acquaintances suddenly approached him, whipped out a handgun and discharged several rounds at him.
The suspect fled the scene while Clarke, who was shot twice to the right region of his body, was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital in an unconscious state.
He was pronounced dead on arrival. The body is presently at Lyken’s Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem.
