The national play-offs in the Guinness Greatest of the Street Football championships will head to the National Stadium at Providence on Saturday and organisers are expecting some pulsating action from the final four teams.

The semi-finals pit Sparta Boss against Linden champions Silver Bullets, while Gold is Money will battle national champions Dave and Celina’s All-Stars.

Ahead of the highly anticipated night, the organisers held a press briefing on Thursday at Banks DIH, Thirst Park, where they all spoke energetically of the action anticipated.

Head of Three Peat Promotions, Rawle Welch, explained the four teams are expected to bring value for fans given the quality they have showcased over the years and the matches also bring out the “Georgetown versus Linden showdown”.

Guinness Brand Manager, Lee Baptiste, applauded the organisers for a job well done and highlighted the success of the tournament over the years. More so, Samantha Thomas, a representative from Colours Boutique, explained the entity is pleased to be associated with the tournament over the years and they will continue to partner any chance to help youths engage in something positive.

In July of this year the Guyana Football Federation informed that players who are attached to clubs that participate in Elite League prohibit them from competing in tournaments outside of the country’s premier senior men’s football tournament without express consent.

But according to the organisers, not having the big names has not diminished the action and the objective of the tournament is to give the common man a chance to showcase his skill.

Six matches are slated for the final night, one of which is a female exhibition.

Up for grabs is $500,000 for first place, while second to fourth pocket $250,00, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively. Action commences at 20:00h and there will be elevated seating and parking inside the stadium.
