Guyanese Ramdhani elected VP of Central America and Caribbean Badminton

President of the Guyana Badminton Association, Gokarn Ramdhani, was this week elected Second Vice-president of the Central America and Caribbean Badminton Confederation (CONCECABA).

The election of office bearers for the new term was done during the Central America and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia. The new term will last until 2022.

Ramdhani, also the Guyana national coach and head of the Yonex Badminton Club, previously served as General Secretary of CONCECABA during the 2014-2018 term.

“This is another great achievement for badminton in Guyana,” Ramdhani told News Room. He added that he will work along with the other executives to ensure Guyana is a beneficiary of the programmes and expertise that are channeled through CONCECABA.

CONCECABA is now headed by Francisco Javier Orozco of Mexico, with Generoso Castillo of the Dominican Republic being the First Vice-president. Alexis Gonzalez of Cuba is the new General Secretary.

Spots on the Technical, Communications and Marketing Commissions were also filled with officials from Guatemala, El Salvador, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Panama elected to serve.

Apart from the CONCECABA post, Ramdhani is also Vice-president of the Caribbean Regional Badminton Confederation (CAREBACO).
