Police are investigating the alleged murder and suicide of a wife and husband, which occurred at around 14:30hrs Monday at Kilcoy, Corentyne Berbice.
Dead are Sabrina Lakhan, 29 and her husband Ramesh Ramdeen.
Initial reports indicate that the two had separated and the woman returned to the house today with her Sister-in-Law and a police officer when the man allegedly slit her throat and then killed himself.
News Room understands that the police officer and the Sister-in-Law had left the two alone when the man attacked her.
Residents in the area told News Room that the man, who worked at the sugar estate, abused the woman countless times in the past.
The had three children together. News Room will provide more information as it becomes available.
