Driver beaten, robbed in home invasion

A hire car driver is lucky to be alive after three bandits invaded his La Grange, West Bank Demerara home just after 11pm Friday, held him at gunpoint and robbed him of cash and other valuables.

News Room understands that that 41-year-old Reshi Pasha, had just returned home and parked his car in the yard, when he was accosted by three gunmen who had jerseys wrapped around their faces.

The victim ran to back of his yard and was followed by two of the suspects, when he was confronted by the third bandit, who was armed with a gun.

The bandits dealt him several lashes to the face, took him at gunpoint to his door and demanded he open it.

Police said the victim’s mother saw the commotion and opened the door.

They escaped with $230,000 in cash, a cell phone, a gold chain value at $200,000 and a Amazon tablet valued at $20,000.

Pasha was treated for a cut under his left eye at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
