A 20-year-old man was on Wednesday sentenced to 18 years jail by Justice Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the High Court for the rape a 7- year-old girl, which occurred in 2013.
Delon Clementson had pleaded guilty to the charge, which stated that between August 1 and 31, 2013, he engaged in sexual penetration with a child under the age of 16.
He was represented by Attorney-at-Law Adrian Thompson and was ordered by the judge to undergo a psychological evaluation. The State was represented by prosecutors Lisa Cave and Orinthia Schmidt.
