Teen goes missing from Juvenile Holding Centre
A teenager has gone missing from the Juvenile Holding Centre at Sophia, Georgetown.
The Ministry of Public Security said Leon Patterson, 16, was discovered missing from the facility on August 9, 2018 when his mother visited the facility during the regular lunchtime visiting hours.
The Ministry said an instant search of the premises and surrounding areas proved futile. Security cameras last showed the teen exiting the administrative building through the back door.
The Ministry is treating the incident as an escape.
The Police were alerted and the ‘A’ Division Commander and other officers visited the facilities, following which a search of the Sophia area was immediately conducted; the teen was not found.
Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of Patterson is asked to contact the nearest Police Station.
