Bourda Vendor shot dead

Police are on the hunt for three men who shot and killed 45-year-old Troy Ramalho in plain view of vendors at the Bourda Market at around 11pm Wednesday.

News Room understands that Ramalho, a Cheese and Sausage vendor, had already packed up his stall at Robb Street, between Alexander and Bourda, and was waiting for a taxi to head to this North Road home when the bandits accosted him.

One of the men pulled out a gun from his pants crotch and shot Ramalho to his chest while the others removed three gold chains which were wrapped around his right arm and three gold rings along with his cell phone.

The vendor, popularly known as ‘Rasta,’ was picked up in an unconscious state and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he subsequently died.

Police said the bandits escaped on foot. Police are said to be reviewing CCTV footage as the investigations continue.
