Man allegedly kills wife in East La Penitence
Moments after he allegedly stabbed his 24-year-old reputed wife to death, Jermaine Bristol turned himself into the police at the Brickdam Police Station.
Dead is Shenece Lawrence.
The body of Lawrence was discovered at the house with a knife stuck in the neck.
News Room understands that the young woman and Bristol shared a five-year relationship and started to live together two months ago but things went sour and she moved out of their Lot 272 Freeman Street, East La Penitence Georgetown home on Thursday last.
However, Bristol’s aunt, Yvonne Morris, who lives a short distance away, told the News Room that Lawrence visited her at about 10:30hrs today and enquired about Bristol.
The woman said that Lawrence then left and went to the house which she previously shared with her spouse.
“Next thing I heard is Shenece is dead. I don’t know what really caused the problem, I can’t really say,” Morris told News Room.
She added that she has never known her nephew to be a violent person but admitted that the couple always argued.
Morris said Bristol even spoke with her earlier when he asked for some food.
Morris said the couple went to church together on Sunday last which suggested they would have settled their differences.
“I don’t know what went wrong there,” the woman said.
News Room also contacted Lawrence’s family but they were not in a position to speak with the media.
