Motorcyclist killed in Bellevue accident

A 54-year-old man of Lot 2270 Good Intent, West Bank Demerara (WBD) was on Tuesday night killed in an accident on Bellevue Public Road, WBD.

News Room understands that Oswald Dey was proceeding along the road on his motorcycle CH 4288 when he collided with 35-year old pedestrian Dyanand Singh of Stanleytown, WBD.

The area was reportedly dark at the time of the accident.

As a result, both the motorcyclist and the pedestrian fell on the road.

Dey received injuries to his head and about his body while the pedestrian received injuries to his right foot, head and left hand.

They were picked up and taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital by the police.

However, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on arrival while the pedestrian was admitted to the hospital in a stable condition.
