U-19: T&T beat Guyana in low-scoring contest

Guyana suffered a four-wicket defeat at the hands of Trinidad and Tobago on Monday when action continued in the Regional Under-19 50-over competition at Arnos Vale, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Guyana could muster 116 in 38 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat, with Kevlon Anderson hitting a top score of 42 (71 balls; 5x4s). Extras, totaling 16, was the second best score.

Rivaldo Ramlogan (3-27) and Justyn Gangoo (2-7) were the leading wicket-takers for Trinidad and Tobago, who responded with 118-6 in 27.5 overs. Bowling for Guyana, Bhaskar Yadram had 2-14 and Qumar Torrington 2-21.

Guyana will now need to defeat the Windward Island in their final round match on Wednesday in order to have a chance to retain the title. They will also hope for Jamaica to beat Trinidad and Tobago to help their cause.
