Guyana defeated Windward Islands by seven wickets on Wednesday to win a fifth straight Cricket West Indies Regional Under-19 50-over title in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Playing at Arnos Vale, Windward Islands were restricted to 105 all out in 33.5 overs; Guyana replied with 106-3 in 24.3 overs to seal victory and confirm the trophy would be heading to South America.

After Guyana won the toss and elected to field, Kevlon Anderson led his country’s bowling effort, claiming 4-26 off 7.5 overs. Qumar Torrington bagged 3-26 and Joshua Jones added 2-23 as Windward Islands struggled.

Opener Jahseon Alexander with 22 was the only batsman to score more than 20.

Guyana lost openers Bhaskar Yadram (8) and Joshua Persaud (1) to be 14-2, before Sachin Singh and Kevin Sinclair stitched together a fifty partnership to stabilize the innings.

Singh ended on 27 not out, while Sinclair made 39 and Anderson 13 not out.
