Two persons are confirmed dead and three others are hospitalized following an accident on the Moblissa road, Soesdyke/Linden Highway Saturday afternoon.

Dead are 60-year-old Tessa Telford Ibrahim and her son, Marlon McFarlane, 30, – who was an employee of Guyana Goldfields and a former member of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF).

The injured have been identified as 9-year-old Patricia McFarlane and 7-year-old Rihanna McFarlane– two cousins – and Maisha Ibrahim, 23, – the driver, who is said to be in a critical condition.

Police said Patricia remains unconscious at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

News Room understands that the family was returning to their Lot 119 Highway Boulevard, Amelia’s Ward, Linden home from Georgetown when Maisha lost control of the vehicle (PNN 3987) after driving into a pothole; she reportedly swerved to the opposite side of the road, hit a rail and landed in the ravine below.
