Siblings tied up, beaten & robbed
Police are on the hunt for three men, who allegedly robbed a 49 -year-old labourer and his 44-year-old sister at their Section A, Block Y, Golden Grove Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara home.
Police said that the masked bandits, who were armed with guns, tied up Robin and Nomina Ramdohal and robbed them of cash and other valuables at around 7pm Friday.
News Room understands that Robin was sitting on a bench in front of the house when the men held him at gunpoint and took him into the house where they found his sister.
Reports indicate that the siblings tried to fight off the bandits but they were beaten in the head, face and body with the gun by the suspects.
The siblings were then ordered to lie on the floor and the bandits tied their hands and feet with a shoelace and belt.
The bandits then ransacked the house and stole US$507; $70,000 cash; two gold rings; a Samsung Galaxy S5 cellphone and a Blue cell phone along with other items.
Police said the bandits escaped on foot. Neighbours then untied the siblings and took them to the Golden Grove Police Station where they were escorted to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre.
Investigations are ongoing.
