VIDEO: Prison Officer caught shoplifting

A Prison Officer who was caught shoplifting at a Chinese Store on the East Coast of Demerara was dismissed from the Prison Service with immediate effect.

Prison Director (ag), Gladwin Samuels did not identify the officer but told the media on Monday that he was caught in the act via the store’s surveillance cameras.

That video has since gone viral on social media.

“His dismissal was recommended with immediate effect and approval was granted. The GPS [Guyana Prison Service] has no more affiliation with him,” the Prison Director said.
