CDC distributes supplies to Venezuelan migrants

The Civil Defence Commission (CDC) has distributed relief items to Venezuelan migrants who have settled in Region One (Barima – Waini).

CDC Director General Kester Craig said the Commission also monitored government’s intervention of the migrants over the last three months.

The CDC recently collaborated with the Department of Citizenship and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to train service providers on international best practice in assisting migrants and protecting them from abuse and/or exploitation of any kind.

Government has announced that it will be developing a homestead for the Venezuelans who are fleeing social and economic crisis in their hometown.
