Midfielder Neil Danns scored a 78th minute equaliser that turned out to be the final goal of the match, as Guyana’s Golden Jaguars earned a 2-2 draw against Barbados in the CONCACAF Nations League on Thursday evening.

Playing at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora, the Golden Jaguars found themselves trailing 1-2 after a Hallam Hope double put Barbados in the ascendancy.

After a goalless opening half, Guyana made the perfect start upon resumption with Trayon Bobb breaching the defence of the goalkeeper to put his country 1-0.

Nineteen minutes later however, Hope would level things for the visitors to silence the bias home crowd. Barbados took the lead for the first time in the match in the 73rd minute when a header from Hope made it 2-1.

However, Danns’ fourth international goal for Guyana ensured the Jaguars left the sward with an equal share of the points.

They next play hosts Turk and Caicos Islands on October 13, followed by a trip to French Guiana on November 20 and a home clash against Belize in March next year.
