A 55-year-old man of Old Kara Kara Mackenzie, Linden is now dead after he was severely beaten with a piece of wood around 11:00hrs Friday.
A manhunt has been launched for the suspect known as ‘Fifty’ and who resides at Silvercity, Wismar, Linden.
Dead is Leroy Barron, an unemployed man who did odd jobs around the Mackenzie Market.
According to the police, Barron and the suspect had an argument during which the suspect allegedly armed himself with a piece of wood and gave the victim a severe beating.
The suspect later the fled the scene.
The victim was taken to the Linden Hospital Complex in an unconscious state and was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body is presently at the Wismar Hospital Mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
