Contractor robbed by armed bandits at Lamaha Springs
A contractor was Saturday night robbed by armed bandits as he was walking to a friend’s house at Lamaha Springs, Georgetown.
Olsen Koala, 36, of Durban Street, Georgetown was robbed of a Samsung cellular phone valued $40,000, a gold chain worth $20,000, and $18,000 in cash.
News Room understands that around 22:10hrs, the man was walking in the community when he noticed two males on a motorcycle riding behind him.
The perpetrators then rode and blocked his pathway; the pillion rider, who was armed with a gun, dismounted and demanded that the man hand over his valuables.
Koala complied and the armed bandit then discharged a round in the air. He then joined his accomplice and they both escaped.
Police are investigating.
