Guyana Amazon Warriors’ all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford is the lone Guyanese drafted for the T10 Cricket League competition in the Middle East, which is scheduled to take place from November 23-December 2.

The draft occurred earlier today (September 24) in the United Arab Emirates where Rutherford was drafted by Bengal Tigers for a figure yet to be disclosed. He joins some elaborate company in Sunil Narine, Jason Roy and Morne Morkel, along with Warriors’ teammate Rayad Emrit.

The 20-year-old was one of the players to leave a lasting impression in the recently concluded Hero Caribbean Premier League, where he racked up 171 runs in eight matches at a healthy strike rate of 142.50.

His most destructive innings was an unbeaten 13-ball 45 against champions Trinbago Knight Riders, which included six maximums and one four, and rocketed Warriors to victory at 155 in 14.1 overs at Providence.

The T10 League was launched last year by T10 Sports Management to popularise the game of cricket in its shortest format – that concludes within less than 90 minutes in which two teams bat it out in ten overs – or just 0 balls – thrilling the crowd.

England limited overs captain Eoin Morgan led Kerala Kings to the T10 League title in the inaugural edition.
